    Re: Bobby Bates Wrestling Classic

Some good wrestling went on last night. Everything starts this at 1030a with consolation matches. The finals start at 530p. If you all don't have nothing to do today come on out watch some wrestling. 5 dollars for early session or finals only or 8 dollars for all day.

    Re: Bobby Bates Wrestling Classic

I'm not a wrestling fan and have minimal knowledge of the sport but, I would pay money to watch Collins and McCowan wrestle again. As I said, my knowledge of the sport is not great so somebody help me out; was the kid from Grundy not out of bounds when he escaped (1 point) that eventually led to the extra periods?

Yeah he was out of bounds But that all comes down to who is reffing. Collins has a great attitude about it saying he shouldn't have let it come down to that. It's like leaving a fight in the hands of the judges.

132 Justin Street, Grundy T-Fall Dale Conner, Floyd, 22-7
I'm pretty sure Connor was a single a state champ last year.

Biggin the Hamilton kid is a good wrestler But i was more impressed with Zach rogich. He won his weight class

2 to 2 at end of regualtion. RR took Central down striaght to his back now it is 4 to 2, was allowed to work for fall, got 3 near fall, so that is 7-2, at least that is what the bout sheet says.

I stand corrected RR kid got 2 escapes and Central kid got a take down in regulation. I went and looked at my pics and it was 2-2 in ot.

    Re: Bobby Bates Wrestling Classic

Like I said the bout sheet says 7-2, in the 1st period no points, 2nd period RR took down and got an escape RR-1 Central 0, Central took him down Central 2 RR 1, RR gets an escape RR 2 Central 2, third period Central takes down and no one scores so 2-2 at end of regulation. If it was 3-3 then it would be 8-3 with takedown near fall. Your kid wrestled a good match and got caught with a takedown to his back, he fought off his back and gave RR a decision instead of a pin which meant RR got no points for the decision, they would have recieved 2 points for the fall.
